LATEST UPDATE: EXTENSION OF UNIJOS POST-UTME/DIRECT ENTRY ONLINE SCREENING FOR THE 2025/2026 ACADEMIC SESSION
The University of Jos hereby announces the extension of Online Screening exercise for all qualified candidates who applied for admission into the University in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) and those who applied for Direct Entry into the University through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for the 2025/2026 Academic Session.
ELIGIBILITY: All UTME and Direct Entry candidates must have subscribed to the University of Jos as their first choice and scored not less than the Institutional cut-off marks and the differential cut-off marks as presented for various Faculties and Programmes.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE: The Online registration portal for the Post-UTME and Direct Entry screening would be opened from 2nd to 9th October, 2025.
For details of the cut-off mark and differential score for the various Faculties and Programmes, Method of Application, payment, registration and other procedures for the exercise as well as further instructions, visit the University’s website portal.unijos.edu.ng
Please, note once again that the online Screening for UTME and Direct Entry (DE) candidates continues from 2nd October, 2025 to end on 9th October, 2025.

Any candidate who fails to participate in the ONLINE Screening will not be considered for admission into the University of Jos while supplying false information will result in disqualification.

- The University of Jos, abbreviated as Unijos, is a Federal University in Jos, Plateau State, central Nigeria.
- What became the University of Jos was established in November 1971 from the satellite campus of the University of Ibadan.
- The first students were admitted in January 1972 as pre-degree students and the first Bachelor of Arts degree program began in October 1973.
- In October 1975, the then military government under General Murtala Mohammed established the Unijos as a separate institution.
- The first Vice-Chancellor of the Unijos was Professor Gilbert Onuaguluchi.
- Classes began at the newly reorganized University of Jos in October 1976 with 575 students spreading over the existing four faculties of Arts and Social Sciences, Education, Natural Sciences and Medical Sciences.
- Post-graduate programs were added in 1977.
- By 1978 Faculties of Law and Environmental Sciences were established and the Faculties of Arts and Social Sciences were separated.

How to Apply for UNIJOS Post UTME Form
To register, candidates should:
- First visit the University of Jos (UNIJOS) post utme portal here https://portal.unijos.edu.ng/
- When the portal loads you have to click on “PROGRAM” then select “UTME Screening” which you can easily locate at the right hand side of your screen.
- You will be prompted to enter your mobile number in a space that appears, kindly enter it and click on Get started.
- Then you now have to input your valid email and password which is a simple one you can remember. Then click sign up.
- Check your email address for a link, click on the link so that your email will be validated.
- You know have to log back with your details on the site https://portal.unijos.edu.ng/), simply click “Click here to login” next you have to click on “PROCEED “
- you will be directed to the payment page, chose your payment option, this can be through Remitta or through online payment using your ATM card or POS.
- Immediately your payment is received don’t forget to print out the receipt which will serve as evidence of payment.
- You should now be able to upload your passport photograph by clicking on “Upload Passport” this should be followed by ‘browse” then select your perfect photograph which should be 25kb. Then click on save.
- A page will appear where you will enter your details such as exam grades and bio data after this click on “Save Result and Continue”
- Don’t forget to make a print out of your slip.
