Some Fun Facts About PLASU
- Plateau State University is a public (state-owned) university in Bokkos, Plateau State, Nigeria. It was established in 2005.
- It is located in Diram Village along the Butura-Tarangol axis in Bokkos Local Government Area, about 70 kilometres away from Jos the Plateau State capital.
- It was granted recognition by the National Universities Commission (NUC) on April 29, 2005, as the 66th university in Nigeria and the 24th state-owned university in the country.
- Academic activities started in May 2007 with a total of 480 students, such activities were suspended on September 10 of the same year and the students transferred to the University of Jos. The university was, however, re-opened in October 2010 during the 2010/2011 academic session with lectures commencing in January 2011.
- In March 2016, the National Universities Commission gave full accreditation to the first 17 programmes in the university. This gave the university a “full university” status.
- The current vice-chancellor is Prof. Yohana Daniel Izam.
- PLASU motto is Knowledge, Diligence and Integrity.

Candidates Eligible to Buy PLASU Post UTME Screening Form
Candidates applying for PLASU MUST meet the following criteria:
- Candidates who chose Plateau State University, Bokkos as their first choice and scored 160 and above in the 2024 JAMB UTME.
- Candidates who selected Plateau State University as their first choice in the 2024 JAMB Direct Entry applications and possess any of the following qualifications: Degrees, Higher National Diploma (HND), National Diploma (ND) (with a minimum of Lower Credit), and IJMB (with a minimum of 7 points).
PLASU Cut-Off Marks
All candidates who chose Plateau State University, Bokkos as their “First Choice” and scored 160 and above in the 2024 JAMB UTME. However, candidates who applied for admission into Faculties of Health Sciences, Law and Social Sciences are to note the following differential cut-off points for programmes in those Faculties:
a Faculty of Health Sciences:
- Department of Nursing Sciences: Minimum Score of 215 points
- Department of Medical Laboratory Science: Minimum Score of 200 points
- Department of Public Health: Minimum Score of 180 points
b Faculty of Law:
- Department of Law: Minimum Score of 200 points.
C Faculty of Social Sciences:
Department of Psychology: Minimum Score of 180 points.

How to Apply for PLASU Post UTME Form
The screening exercise will be performed online. To apply, candidates must adhere to the following steps:
- Navigate to the University Portal: Visit PLASU’s application portal.
- Select the Relevant Application Form: From the menu options, click “UTME/DE APPLICATION”.
- JAMB Verification: Input your JAMB Registration Number to verify your details.
- Email and Password: Enter a valid email address and a secure password, and confirm the password.
- Email Confirmation: A confirmation link will be dispatched to your email address. Click on this link to log in and continue the application process.
Payment and Further Steps
- Generate RRR Number: Click the button “Click to make payment”, and a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) will be generated.
- Payment Method: For card payment, click “Proceed To Payment”. For cash payment, copy the RRR number and proceed to any nearby bank.
- Screening Fee: Pay a non-refundable fee of Two Thousand Naira (N2,000.00).
- Upload Documents: Upload a recent passport photograph (maximum file size of 150kb, file types allowed: png, jpg, jpeg).
- Academic Records: Submit your best five O-Level subjects and grades as specified in the JAMB brochure for PLASU.
Direct Entry Screening Payment and Registration
The procedure for Direct Entry candidates is similar to the above, with the additional step of filling in academic qualifications.
BEWARE OF FRAUDSTERS/CYBERCRIME
Candidates and indeed members of the public should beware of fraudsters who may be fronting as agents of the University to dupe innocent and unsuspecting candidates and members of the general public under the pretence of offering admission to them.
The University wishes to make it abundantly clear that admission into the University is done directly by the University and JAMB: and NOT through any third party or agent, please.
