The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) stands as a beacon of technological education in Nigeria. Established in 1981, FUTA is one of several universities of technology founded by the federal government during that period, alongside institutions like the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) and the Federal University of Technology Minna (FUTMINNA).
Interestingly, one of these universities, the Federal University of Technology Abeokuta (FUTAB), later transformed into what we now know as the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB).
