Ekiti State Polytechnic Isan-Ekiti, originally founded in 2014 as the College of Technical and Commercial Agriculture by the Ekiti State government under Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, was designed to boost middle-level manpower in agriculture.

However, its early mission faced interruptions. In 2019, the polytechnic was revived through the Ekiti State Polytechnic, Isan-Ekiti (Re-enactment) Law, No. 6 of 2019, reinstated by Dr. Fayemi.

Officially commencing operations in September 2019, the institution marked its re-launch with the appointment of Professor Johnson Kayode Adesodun as the pioneer Rector and Mr. Joseph Akin Olugbenga Olorunsola as the pioneer Registrar.

The polytechnic currently offers National Diploma (ND) programs across six departments, with plans to expand its range of programs and certificates.
