- The Bayero University Kano (BUK) is a university situated in Kano, Kano State, Nigeria.
- It was founded in 1962 as Ahmadu Bello College, named after the first Premier of Northern Nigeria, Sir Ahmadu Bello.
- In 1975, it was renamed Bayero University College, after the famous Fulani scholar and 19th century reformer, Usman Dan Fodio.
- And became a full-fledged university in 1977 and named Bayero University Kano.
- It is one of the first generation federal universities established by the Federal Government of Nigeria.
- The pioneer faculties are Arts and Islamic Studies, Science, Education, and Social and Management Sciences.
- Overtime, it expanded and more faculties such as Medicine, Engineering, Pharmacy, Law, Computing and Informatics, Allied Health Sciences, Earth and Environmental Studies were added.
- Currently, it has 15 faculties, 98 academic departments, and over 35,000 students.
- Main campus is located along new BUK road in the metropolis of Kano. Also has a city campus at Kofar Nasarawa.

- Eligibility: Candidates who selected Bayero University Kano as their first choice in the UTME and scored the minimum cut-off points for various faculties and programs are eligible. The minimum score for any field of study is 160, but could varies depending on the course.

How to Apply for BUK Post UTME Form
- Step 1: Login– At the homepage of the Bayero University website www.buk.edu.ng click on 2025 UTME ONLINE SCREENING EXERCISE.
- Step 2: Profile Update-UTME candidates can login using UTME Registration Number as username and UTME aggregate score as password. You should then fill-in the provided form noting that the photograph uploaded from JAMB will be the only valid ID for all admitted candidates throughout their stay in Bayero University, Kano.
- Step 3: Generation of BUK PPI –Generate and download your Personalized Payment Invoice (PPI). The invoice will come with Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) for the sum of N2,000.00 being cost of screening. Applicants have an option of paying online using Credit/Debit Card, Internet Banking, or printing the invoice and using it to pay at any Commercial Bank nationwide.
- Note that after successful online payment, acknowledgement slip can instantly be generated and printed. In case of bank payment, the payment has to be processed by the candidate using the provided “check your payment” button on the site, before acknowledgement card can be printed.
- ANY CANDIDATE WHO FAILS TO REGISTER FOR THE SCREENING EXERCISE WITHIN THE STIPULATED DATE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
