Facts About BUK Post UTME Screening
- Bayero University Kano (BUK) Post UTME is a Computer-Based Test (CBT). This means that the exam will be administered on computers and candidates will be required to answer questions using a keyboard and mouse
- 50 objective questions to answer in 60 minutes
- Calculating the aggregate score:
- Each BUK post UTME question carries 8 marks, with a total of 50 questions, amounting to 400 marks (50×8=400).
- Based on experience, you need at least 160 marks (20 out of 50 questions) in your post-UTME, as BUK considers this their passing mark.
- For instance, if you score 200 in UTME but only 152 in post-UTME and your weighted average (WA) is 176, you will not qualify if the department’s cutoff mark for Zoology is 160.
- The weighted average (a summation of your UTME and Post-UTME score, divided by 2) plays a crucial role in admission; the higher your WA, the better your chances of admission.
- Meeting the department’s WA cutoff mark does not guarantee admission, as other factors are considered, such as:
- Number of aspirants meeting or exceeding the cutoff mark
- Merit-based aspirants
- Catchment areas
- ELDs (Educationally Less Developed states)
- For example, a candidate from Lagos with a WA of 180 might not be admitted, while a candidate from Jigawa with a WA of 170 might be, due to these criteria.

BUK Post Utme Instructions
- The Date, Venue, and Time of the BUK Aptitude Test will be communicated via the phone number and/or email address used during JAMB registration.
- Blind and foreign candidates are exempt from the aptitude test but must complete the online registration.
- For inquiries or difficulties, contact the provided email address on the portal.
- Candidates who do not register for the screening exercise within the specified date will not be considered.
